01 May Mary Bridget Davies nominated for a Tony Award
JAMPOL ARTIST MANAGEMENT, INC (JAM, Inc) proudly congratulates our client MARY BRIDGET DAVIES on her first Tony® Award nomination. The singer/actress was nominated for “Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role In A Musical” for her work in the critically acclaimed “A Night With Janis Joplin.” “We are so proud of Mary Bridget,” says JAM president Jeff Jampol. “I knew the first time I heard her sing that she was going to be a huge star. She was already successful, singing with Big Brother and the Holding Company and with her own band, but being on stage in New York for ‘A Night With Janis Joplin’ has vaulted her into Tony® Award territory, and a first-time Tony® nomination for a first-time Broadway actress is a rare and, frankly, stunning achievement.” Davies got the news early Tuesday (4/29) and told her hometown paper, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, that she screamed, “Oh my God, oh my God, they said my name!” when she was nominated. The Tony® Awards will be handed out Sunday, June 8.
