20 Jul The Doors to be honored at 2018 Love Street Festival
Now in its sixth year, the Love Street Festival will honor The Doors on the 50th Anniversary of the release of their Number One song “Love Street.” A dedication ceremony and special performances will take place on Sunday, July 22nd 2018 at 2100 Laurel Canyon Blvd, above and below the Canyon Country Store. The event is a fundraiser to preserve Laurel Canyon’s open space and wildlife corridor.
Artists that helped define the spirit of Laurel Canyon and place it on the map as a hotbed of cultural influence will appear throughout the day. Confirmed appearances include Robby Krieger and John Densmore of The Doors; The Mamas & The Papas’ Michelle Phillips; Micky Dolenz of The Monkees; Love co-founder Jonny Echols; Wilson Phillips; Bijou Phillips; Chris Stills; local musicians influenced by the sounds of Laurel Canyon, and some very special guests to be announced! Special tribute planned for album art director Gary Burden. Rock Photographer Henry Diltz to be honored.
