Matt Abels has 20 years experience in marketing, A&R and product development in the music industry.
During his 8 year tenure at Rhino Records he served rare dual roles as Product Manager / A&R Manager and was responsible for the labels top priorities. A “best of” release he managed debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200, setting a record for the highest charting debut in Rhino’s history.
Also while at Rhino, Matt produced and marketed the Grammy® winning box set What It Is! Funky Soul And Rare Grooves (1967 – 1977) for which he was personally interviewed by The New York Times, Rolling Stone and the Los Angeles Daily News.
Matt has also worked at Concord Music, Higher Octave Music (Virgin Records) and Amoeba Music in Los Angeles where he served as Marketing Director.
